UPDATED COVID RESTRICTIONS: GREATER SYDNEY & REGIONAL NSW
Following the NSW Government’s announcement on Saturday that the stay-at-home orders were put in place have now been extended across all of Greater Sydney including the Blue Mountains, Central Coast, Shellharbour, and Wollongong until 11.59pm on Friday, 9 July 2021.

It was fantastic to see the best Junior Softballers in the State take to the fields, with six (6) Men’s teams and eleven (11) Women’s teams fighting it out for the gold medal.

2021 OPEN MEN’S AND WOMEN’S STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS – CONFIRMED DATES
Following consultation with affiliates, Softball NSW can confirm that the dates for the Open Men’s and Open Women’s State Championships this year will remain as originally scheduled. Both events will be held at the Blacktown International Sportspark, Rooty Hill.

STATE TEAM SELECTION POLICY AND SELECTORS EOI RELEASED
Softball NSW Board has recently approved its State Team Selection Policy which comes into effect as of 28thMay 2021.
The purpose of the document is to outline the policy and operational processes that apply to the selection of all state team selectors and state team athletes. Selectors who are successfully chosen to represent SNSW at State Championship events, will have clear guidelines set out in this updated policy.

National Volunteer Week (NVW) is Australia’s largest annual celebration of volunteers. From Monday 17th to Sunday 23rd May 2021, NVW celebrates the significant contribution of Australia’s almost six million volunteers.
LAUNCHED: NSW PARLIAMENTARY FRIENDS OF SOFTBALL & BASEBALL
The Parliamentary Friends of Softball & Baseball is a new parliamentary group which formed and confirmed by the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Mr Jonathan O’Dea on March 25. During this meeting, the Member for Blacktown Mr Stephen Bali and Member for Coffs Harbour Mr Gurmesh Singh were elected as the inaugural Co-Chairs.
AUSSIE FAREWELL EVENT
Softball NSW would like to invite all members and the wider community for an Aussie Farewell and fan Event, at Blacktown International Sportspark on Sunday 23rd May 2021. This event is to acknowledge the NSW based Aussie Spirit players before they head to Japan for final selection and the Tokyo Olympic Games.
2021 UNDER 16 STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Under 16 State Championships will be hosted by Southern Districts Softball Association (SDSA) in 2021, on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 July, at Jacquie Osmond Reserve, Warwick Farm.
2021 SNSW STATIC CAMP
Softball NSW would like to advise all members of the upcoming STATIC (Softball Training and Talent Identification Camp).
STATIC is targeted at players from the previous U12 State Championships (2020) of all abilities. This is an educational experience for players and will allow them to be a part of a fun environment while learning more about the game of Softball.
MANLY WARRINGAH AND SOFTBALL CAMPBELLTOWN TEEBALL CHAMPIONS FOR 2021
The 2021 Under 10 State Championships, hosted by Central Coast Softball Association, was an amazing, jam-packed weekend of Teeball action! The atmosphere at the grounds was electric, and the weather was perfect for the weekend to showcase the best young teeballers from across the state. The girls and boys really outdid themselves with their team camaraderie and renditions of classic Softball chants and songs, driving their teams to a number of nail-biting finishes.
COMMUNITY OPPORTUNITY: SOFTBALL NSW POLICY REFERENCE GROUP EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST OPEN
Softball NSW are now calling for nominations from within the community to join the Softball NSW Policy Reference Group.
The function of the Softball NSW Policy Reference Group is to review the existing draft policies and make recommendations to the Board of Softball NSW on the most effective framework, for best practice governance and application at all levels.
