UPDATE: 2021 23 & UNDER STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS WASHED OUT

Published Sat 13 Feb 2021

Given the continuing weather conditions across the Greater Sydney Region, and in consultation with several Affiliates, it is with great disappointment that Softball NSW postpones the 2021 23 & Under State Championships this weekend.

Following extensive discussions and ground inspections with Associations and their ground crews this afternoon, it has been determined that it will not be possible to relocate the Championships for Sunday 14 February.

Whilst our intention was for all games to proceed, this will not be practically possible, nor safe in the current and continuing conditions. The safety of our participants and officials remains paramount in the decision-making process.

Softball NSW will be providing reschedule options to all participating Affiliates and Team Managers on Monday 15 February 2021. We are very mindful of the impact the rescheduling of this event may have on each Association’s delivery of their local competition. We ask that all feedback regarding these options be provided to Aimee Sutton (SNSW Events and Facilities Coordinator) by 5:00pm Thursday 18 February 2021.

Following the Affiliate consultation process, a decision on the new date for the 23 & Under State Championships will be provided to the community on Friday 19 February 2021.

Softball NSW would like to thank all participating teams and Associations for their patience and understanding as we worked through numerous challenges this weekend with regard to the Championships.
