It has been a busy couple of weeks and months for Softball NSW Umpires, with close to 50 umpires servicing over 150 games at various tournaments in NSW. Softball NSW Director of Umpiring, Krissi Travers said “It has been great to see so much Softball and the commitment of our umpires in officiating at events from State Championships to the inaugural International Cup to one of our own at the most recent Canada Cup. We’ve had umpires officiate at their first senior championship and a number of umpires achieve success, progressing in their umpiring career, achieving their next level of accreditation, which has been great to see. As associations ramp up towards the start of the summer season, it is important that we look to get more umpires on the diamond enjoying the sport from the best seat in the house and contributing to the programs we have here in NSW and Australia."

NSW Umpire at the Canada Cup 
James English recently travelled to Canada to officiate in the Canada Cup. James has a great tournament and was appointed to the Plate in the Grand Final game. Well done, James!

What’s coming up?

• NSW Umpires will be back in action over the next 2 weekends at the U16 State Championships before heading to Newcastle and Orange later in the year for the U12 and U14 State Championships as well at O45s and State League.
• Level 2 Clinic – For level 1 umpires looking to achieve their Level 2. This will be held at Blacktown International Sportspark on 23 and 24 September 2023. Register your interest to attend TODAY!
• Level 2 Assessments being conducted at the U14 State Championships
• Association development sessions to help you prepare for the upcoming season!
