2024 Over 35 Women's State Championship - Preview

After a short hiatus due to Nationals and the holiday season State Championship softball recommences in 2024 with the Over 35 Women's State Championship featuring this weekend on Friday 9th, Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th February 2024 at Blacktown International Sportspark. This year's Over 35 Women's State Championship will feature thirteen teams from across the state setting the stage for a fantastic weekend of softball.

What Happened Last Year? 

Softball NSW, Blacktown International Sportspark and Stanhope Gardens Softball Fields hosted the 2023 Over 35 State Championships with the Women's Over 35 State Championship running in conjunction with the Men's. The 2023 Over 35 Women's State Championship featured twelve teams and after a fantastic two days of softball action featuring glorious weather Day 3 was pushed back due to weather interruptions. The Grand Final was played between Georges River and Manly Warringah with Georges River defeating Manly Warringah 4-1 to take the honours. 

Venue Information - BISP 

All players, officials and spectators are required to park in the allocated at the venue. Entry is via Gate A at Blacktown International Sportspark. Entry and exit to the Softball Centre and diamonds will be via the main entry gates only (entry off the main carpark). Please do not park in areas that specify 'NO PARKING' or 'CLEARWAY' and do not obstruct any access points and or/residential driveways. Parking in the carpark is at your own risk and vehicles are not permitted inside the venue. 

This weekend we are also aware of a regional Athletics carnival at the Blacktown International Sportspark Athletics Centre. Please be aware that is event may impact parking availability at the Sportspark, and allow extra time to find parking. Additional overflow parking can be found at Gate B and Gate C, with a walk to the Softball Centre. 

Softball NSW and Blacktown City Council support a smoke-free policy. Smoking and/or the use of e-cigarettes or vaping is only permitted in the car park areas of the venue. Alcohol is strictly NOT to be brought into the venue. 

The canteen and BBQ will be open throughout the championship, with card payment only. Please check the specials board inside the canteen for lunch and dinner meals available each day. The coffee van (Jenny and John's Coffee Magic) will also be operational across the weekend at the grounds, next to the entrance on Diamond 1 with both cash and card payments available. 

The Softball NSW bar will be open on Saturday afternoons/evenings, from approximately 1:00pm to 8:00pm. Card is the only payment method. 

PHOTOGRAPHY & LIVESTREAM

Throughout the duration of the Over 35 Women's State Championship, Softball NSW staff and media volunteers will be on-site capturing the event for Softball NSW purposes. In addition, team photos can be undertaken per request. 

All games on Diamond 1 will be live-streamed across the duration of the tournament. Softball NSW will also endeavour to have commentary for live-streamed games (particularly finals); however, this is run by volunteers and cannot always be guaranteed.

First Aid & Physiotherapy 

Our partners The Healthy Body Company will be present at the Championship and can provide injury management, advice and preventative strapping. The First Aid area will be located on the ground level of Diamond 1, near the third base dugout.
