Continuing on from successive weekends of Open State Championships, Georges River Softball Association is gearing up to host the 2023 Under 16 Girls State Championship this weekend. Held at Kelso Park North Softball Fields Panania, the Under 16 Girls State Championship will showcase outstanding softball talent within this age category. The championship will feature eight teams, setting the stage for a weekend of competitive and high-quality softball. 

The following teams will feature in this year's Under 16 Girls State Championship: 

Cumberland Nepean 

Georges River 

Hornsby 

Macarthur 

Manly Warringah 

Newcastle 

North Shore 

Penrith City

What Happened Last Year? 

Softball NSW and Blacktown International Sportspark played host to the 2022 Under 16 Girls State Championship. The championship featured eleven teams from across the state and an invitational team from the ACT, with Manly Warringah and North Shore, featuring in the Grand Final. Manly Warringah took the honours defeating North Shore 9-2 in an exciting and quality game of softball. 

Venue Information 

All players, officials and spectators are requested to park in the allocated car park. Entry to the carpark is off Henry Lawson Drive at Kelso Park North Softball Fields, with additional street parking available along Henry Lawson Drive. Gates will be open from 7:00 am in the morning across Saturday and Sunday under the current draw. 

The Georges River Softball Association canteen will be open accepting both cash and card payments, with the BBQ also available. The coffee van will also be operational at the grounds, between Diamonds 1, 2, 7 and 8. 

Photography & Livestream 

Throughout the duration of the Under 16 Girls State Championship, Softball NSW staff and media volunteers will be on site capturing the event for Softball NSW purposes. In addition, team photos can be undertaken per request.

All games on Diamond 1 will be live-streamed across the duration of the tournament.
