2023 Open Women's State Championship - Preview

Continuing to build upon the momentum from a fantastic start to the month for softball in NSW, Blacktown International Sportspark will host the 2023 Open Women's State Championship this weekend. The 2023 Open Women's State Championship will be packed full of softball action, from the eleven teams competing showcasing an array of talent from our senior and junior softballers from across the state. 

The following teams will be competing in this year's Open Women's State Championship: 

Central Coast 

Cumberland Nepean 

Georges River

Hornsby 

Macarthur 

Manly Warringah 

Newcastle 

North Shore 

Penrith City 

Southern Districts

What Happened Last Year? 

Softball NSW played host to the 2022 edition of the Open Women's State Championship at Blacktown International Sportspark. The Championship featured nine teams from NSW and an invitational team from the ACT, played under beautiful weather perfect for entertaining softball. The Grand Final featured both Manly Warringah and Cumberland Nepean with Manly Warringah crowned champions 8-7 over Cumberland Nepean in a tightly contested game.

VENUE INFORMATION - BISP

All players, officials and spectators are required to park in the allocated carpark at the venue. Entry is via Gate A at Blacktown International Sportspark. Entry and exit to the Softball Centre and diamonds will be via the main entry gates only (entry off the main carpark). Please be aware that construction works for the International Centre of Training Excellence (ICTE) behind the Softball Centre may impact parking and ease of access to the Softball carpark.

The canteen and BBQ will be open, with only card-based payments accepted. The coffee van will also be operational at the grounds, next to the entrance on Diamond 1.

The Softball NSW bar will be open on Saturday and Sunday afternoons/evenings, with only card-based payments accepted.

PHOTOGRAPHY & LIVESTREAM

Throughout the duration of the Open Women's State Championship, Softball NSW staff and media volunteers will be on site capturing the event for Softball NSW purposes. In addition, team photos can be undertaken per request. 

All games on Diamond 1 will be live-streamed across the duration of the tournament.
